Twin Robots is a puzzle game in which the player must navigate two robots away from traps to safety. It can be played in co-operative multiplayer with two players or in single-player. It has a quick and easy trophy list, most of which is made up of miscellaneous trophies for completing silly tasks that only require a minute or two each.

Note that, despite appearing on Sony's servers as having three joint PS4/Vita trophy lists, one of the lists is PS4-only, and the other is Vita-only. The game is cross-buy, so both versions of the game can be played (and platinumed) after just buying it once.

RoadmapEdit

Glitch warning This game's trophies are glitchy!

All of this game's trophies are glitchy and may not unlock when they should. You can typically get them to unlock by repeating the action or level, but it is nonetheless recommended that you backup your save file before playing level 28, just to be safe with the game completion and collectible trophies.

Step 1: Complete all levels with both robots aliveEdit

First, simply play through each level in the game (there are 28 in total), making sure that both robots make it to the exit alive (beating levels with just one robot is not enough to earn the trophies). The game has a level select feature, so none of its trophies are missable. Beating all the levels will earn you Finished! (gold), while beating all levels with both robots alive will earn you the following additional trophies:

(bronze)Better together
(silver)Two on two
(gold)Two and two makes 22  glitchy
(gold)Call it even
(gold)This is odd
(gold)Always together

If you have trouble with any of the game's levels, see the following 100% walkthrough of the game, which will earn you most of the game's trophies:

Twin Robots - 100% Walkthrough - All 28 levels, all batteries, both robots alive, trophy guide

Optionally, you may also collect all of the batteries (the game's only collectible) during this playthrough to earn Battery hunter (silver), saving yourself time later on (the above video shows all battery locations as well).

Step 2: Miscellaneous trophies and clean-upEdit

The bulk of this game's trophies are awarded for completing miscellaneous tasks, and fortunately they are all very quick and easy, and can be completed somewhere in the game's first 4 levels. See the guides for any of the following trophies that you have not yet earned:

(bronze)Acid addict
(bronze)Gruyère robot
(silver)Blue tiles
(silver)Lifeguard
(gold)So generous
(silver)See ya in another life, brotha
(silver)Under pressure
(bronze)I am the one who knocks
(gold)Frogger
(gold)The floor is lava
(gold)No rush

Finally, if you have not yet earned Battery hunter (silver) then go back and find any batteries that you missed your first time through the game. Doing so will earn you your shiny new platinum: Platinum Robot (platinum).

Reach the exit with both robots

Just get both robots to the exit of any level. You will eventually have to do this for all levels (see Always together (gold)).

Die 5 times inside an acid pool

If you do not earn this trophy naturally during your playthrough of the game, just repeat level 3 and have one of your robots die in the acid (note that it is not possible to have both of them die in the acid in this level, as there is no acid past the red button). Also, you must either finish the level or have both robots die (by any means) for it to count – you cannot kill one robot with acid and then manually restart the level.

Die on the spikes over 25 times

If you do not earn this trophy naturally while playing through the game, the quickest place to grind it out is level 3. Go press the red button with your first robot, then hop off the platform to the level to the set of spikes down below. Then move the twin robot to the right and hop into the first set of spikes. Repeat as many times as necessary. Note that you must either finish the level or have both robots die (by any means) for it to count – you cannot kill one robot with spikes and then manually restart the level.

Step on all of them in one level

In each level of the game, there are numerous blue tiles all over the floor. Simply walk on all of them in a single level to unlock this trophy. This can easily be earned in Level 1.

Share energy when your twin is about to die

This trophy can be earned easily in level 3. With your first robot, go into one of the acid pools and stay there until your health is very low (red, not just orange). Then switch to the twin robot with the "square" button, and then (with the twin robot) hold the "triangle" button to give energy to the original robot, thus earning you this trophy.

If you keep holding "triangle" until you die, you will also earn So generous (gold).

Give all your energy to your twin

Hold the "triangle" button with one of your robots until they die. This can be earned on any level, but see Lifeguard (silver) for a way of earning both of these trophies at the same time on level 3.

Finish all the levels

This trophy unlocks when you beat level 28 of the game, even if you complete some levels just with 1 robot alive. See Always together (gold) for more information, since you have to beat all levels with both robots alive for that trophy.

Finish level 2 with both robots alive

The only obstacles to worry about in this level are the spikes on certain sections of the floor and the thing that pounds down from the ceiling near the end of the level. Just avoid those traps and get both robots to the exit alive. You eventually have to do this in all levels (see Always together (gold)).

Note that the trophy does not unlock at the level completion screen, but instead it unlocks after you start the next level.

Finish level 22 with both robots alive

See Always together (gold). Not that this trophy is essentially unmissable because you need both robots to unlock a door right before the level's exit, and there are no hazards past that door. The only way not to get this trophy would be to deliberately go back and kill one of the robots at the end of the level.

Note that this trophy is quite glitchy, and might require several attempts to unlock.

Finish all the levels with both robots alive

For this trophy, you must complete all 28 of the game's levels with both robots alive. Earning this trophy will also earn you several other trophies along the way. If you have trouble with any of the levels, you can refer to the following video guide, which cover the entire game:

Finish a level using only 1 robot, not switching control even once

This trophy can be earned in level 1. Simply walk your first robot all the way over to the right and finish the level, and then wait for the other one to die. Note that the trophy will still unlock even though the game switches you over to controlling the twin robot – as long as you do not manually switch robots with the "square" button, it's fine.

Battery hunter

Collect all batteries across all levels

There are 22 batteries hidden throughout the game. There are batteries hidden in some levels, but not others, and some levels have more than one battery. The game's level select screen keeps track of which levels you have found all batteries in by putting "[B]" never to your top scores. For example, if you found all batteries in level 12, then one of your high scores on that level might say "02:40 - [B] - 2 / 2", whereas it would say "02:40 - [] - 2 / 2" if you did not find all the batteries (the "2 / 2" refers to robots saved, not batteries found).

Here is a list of all batteries in the game:

  • Level 4: Near the end, the battery is high above the final floating platform (wall-jump off the left wall to reach it).
  • Level 7: After you reach the bottom level, go left and jump across three fans. The battery is clearly visible on the path to the left of here.
  • Level 8: At the very top of the level, right before the exit, go left.
  • Level 9: After going up the long elevator near the start of the level, go left.
  • Level 10: Just before the narrow wall-jumping section at the very end of the level, go left and follow the highest path of platforms.
  • Level 11: Just before the red button are some platforms that raise and lower. Go to the lower-left of these platforms and follow the tricky path. You will eventually see the battery, but to actually get it you will have to perform a wall-jump off the side of the magnet, while being careful not to land on the spikes.
  • Level 12 (1/2): Take the upper (right) path through the level. You will ride up a fan to where there is a collapsible floor on your left. Follow this path, wall-jumping up the collapsible floors, and you'll find the battery to the right down a narrow tunnel.
  • Level 12 (2/2): Take the upper (right) path through the level. There is a single floating platform above the red button. Get on that floating platform and jump off to the left.
  • Level 13 (1/2): Right after the red button, you will go down some pipes and be given the choice of sliding left or right. Slide left and make sure to jump off the edge of the ramp to get this battery.
  • Level 13 (2/2): After sliding left (see previous battery), follow the path until you go up a small elevator. Jump to the left off the top of this elevator.
  • Level 17: Above and to the left of the large magnet. To reach it, wall-jump off the left side of the magnet and then wall-jump off of the wall.
  • Level 18: Near the end of the level, you will climb up 3 rising platforms. Jump off of the second one to the left and go to the end of the platform.
  • Level 19: A bit over halfway through the level is a long elevator that goes up. After riding it up, go right and follow the tricky path through numerous obstacles.
  • Level 20: Late in the level is a ramp that goes down to an acid pit with a floating platform up above it. Go up onto that platform and jump on top of the block on it before you push the block off to the left.
  • Level 21: After going through the door at the upper-right portion of the level (which can be done by taking a block up the elevator and putting it on the button, or standing one robot on the button while the other one goes through), you will go down three platforms that raise and lower. Jump off to the right of the last platform to get this battery that is in the air.
  • Level 22: While in the lower path of the level (drop through the crumbly floor), you will go down a steep ramp. Jump off of it to the right to get a battery in the air.
  • Level 23: Near the end of the level are some platforms with movable blocks on them. Before pushing those blocks off, jump on top of them to find a battery high up in the air.
  • Level 24: Just to the right of the red button is a ramp. Jump off this ramp onto a platform to the right, and go to the right from there to find the battery.
  • Level 25: (Hard to describe with text – see the video). Take the upper-right path through the level until you drop down, and then take the upper-left path until you see the battery on a dead-end platform.
  • Level 26: Shortly after the red button, you will ride an elevator up. At the top, jump off to the left.
  • Level 27: Follow the uppermost path through the level. About halfway through the level, when you jump up you will be able to go left or right. Go left.
  • Level 28: After the pounders at the start of the level, you will get to a crumbly floor over some acid. Jump up onto the platform above you and to the left to see the battery.

Both robots die smashed together

This trophy can be earned via the crusher near the end of level 2. Simply use the red button to release your robot twin and then position both robots underneath the crusher near the end of the level at the same time. They both must die from the same smash of the crusher.

Run against a closed door

The earliest place that this trophy can be earned is level 14, since that is the first level with the proper type of "closed door". Early in the level, you will go through a yellow door that closes behind you. After it closes, turn around and walk into it for a second or two to unlock this trophy.

Jump 75 times in one level, using the same robot

This trophy can be earned in the first level of the game – the only slightly tricky part is managing your energy, since jumping uses it up. Use your first robot to go right and step on the red button. Use the twin robot to collect as many blue tiles as possible, and then jump to use up the energy that they provide. Once you are almost out of energy, switch back to the original robot with the "square" button and hold the "triangle" button to give that robot's energy to the twin. Then switch back to the twin and jump some more. You should have enough energy to get the trophy.

Perform 10 consecutive wall jumps

This can be earned in level 1. With your first robot, go press the red button. With your twin robot, go to the right to collect some blue energy tiles and then go back all the way to the left crusher room that you started in. This room is just narrow enough that you can wall-jump back and forth in it and earn this trophy. Note that you need to collect the blue energy tiles first or else you won't have enough energy to jump 10 times without dying.

Press the red button at the last minute, just before your twin gets crushed

This trophy can be earned in any level, but you might as well earn it in level 1. As the description says, simply let the crusher get very low over your robot's twin before pressing the red button to release it. The trophy sometimes has trouble unlocking, and moving around inside the crusher area after it has stopped moving might help it unlock. On the other hand, this trophy also very well may glitch (in a good way) and unlock for you randomly as you play through the game normally.
